VR Project wk 6 & 7

Week 19 VR Project - New Beginnings In this semester I will be making a VR game. This time we were given an option to either make a 2D game or a VR/XR application. I decided to go with the VR game because I was feeling pretty confident from last year that I was able to make a game in unity, and this semester we are making the VR game in unity too, so I was thinking that it could be a cool experience. The worst part about learning these tutorials was starting everything up and getting the headset connected to unity. I was shifting between making a game for mobile VR and making one for a headset. It was really rewarding seeing everything finally come together and knocking all the tutorials out. With that being said im still learning more about it and the goal is to learn the tutorials as I make the game so as I learn something new I can immediately apply it to my Project, I believe that this will make the whole process easier smoother. in the next 2 weeks, I want to be in a position wher...

XR Tutorial 05

Week 18 XR Tutorial 05 This we continuing with the tutorials I learned that you don't actually have to have a headset to test the game that you're making. I think this was a really cool concept, this means that I don't always have to have my headset with me to work on my game or the tutorials. In this lesson, I learned the inner works of VR and how unity enables it through its assets.  Adding in simple rooms, In the Project assets, there were 3 rooms to choose from I went with the modern room since I thought it would be cool with a large window with a big view from where the player was looking. Then I added in a city for the player to view when they are playing the game. I think this idea of a modern apartment in a city out the window created an immersive experience besides the fact that the whole city is greyed out. I didn't have my headset with me when I was doing this particular task but I could view it using Unity's XR Device Simulator. I think this is a really ...

Doing It Again

Reading, Week 18 Doing It Again Continuing and bringing together work from last week we will further narrow down on our topics and expand on each of the chosen themes. This week we are experimenting with paragraphs and how we can use them to keep all our research notes in one place. I watched the video that was given to us and the man in the video explained that the spacing between the paragraphs and topics is so important, because if someones looking at our notes they should be able to easily tell whats going on and what information is what. Having things crossing over in the text would be confusing for both the person who wrote it and reflecting or another person. All of these paragraphs together is called a thesis.  Another way to space these paragraphs would to have a subheading cutting off each of the topics. Using the research that I have already gathered will be attempting my own set of paragraphs to combine my research. I will use the same technique as shown...
