Annotated Bibliography

In this week's reading, we were learning about annotated bibliography. Annotate is the Latin word for taking notes or adding notes to and the word bibliography means book writing in greek.
Together this gives you a list of books with notes, this is useful for research especially in our case for this book that our class is writing. 
In most cases annotated bibliography consists of three key elements, these are Citation, Summary, and Annotation. The annotation is what takes up most of the writing work as you have to explain what's going on with it and why it's important to your research. The summary is a short paragraph that should be concise and hold no more than two or three lines with a brief overview. The citation is the header and is just stating what's going on or the title of the research document. 

This week ill be doing one of my own annotated bibliographies towards the topic im talking about but first I want to show my updated matrix method.



I'll be updating this matrix method doc every week as we get closer to completing the book. 

Today I was researching social aspects of Co-op/ multiplayer gaming and how it can improve relationships and bring people together. Using the annotated bibliography method I'll be explaining this topic.

Citation:

Social Aspects in Multiplayer Gaming

Summary:

How does it bring people together and develop relationships? Does it help with social anxiety?

Annotation:

Social interaction in gaming was something that I knew about but never really looked into ever. Social interaction is important for everyone, for the company, and for mental health. Doing something that you enjoy such as playing video games is great and doing with others that have the same interests as you makes it even better it's because of this similar interest that people can form friendships. I was researching an article that I found really useful for this topic.
In this article, there was a study that was conducted in 2017 by the 'Edge Hill University of York' found that MMO engagement led to a stronger sense of social identity and because of this they feel like their part of a society or a group this gives people a stronger affiliation with their people and in turn, "gave higher self-esteem and lowered levels of loneliness". To me, this is amazing and shows how much gaming in multiplayer settings can affect people for the good. I remember when I was younger, my parents would say get off the game and go outside with your friends, but nowadays People are playing with their friends on the game and socializing that way. 
I think that gaming with friends can also relieve stress or anxiety, having a bit of craic with your friends can help with taking your mind off things, this definitely helped me. Escape is one of the biggest aims of gaming so I feel like it would help a lot of people too.

    Hey Adam,
    I like how you added the latin and greek meanings at the beginning they give that extra spice to this blog post. From this blog post alone I think I get the matrix method more. Do you have any opinions on this method and do you think you’ll be using it in future assignments? I love this blog post and don’t forget to keep slaying.

    Hi Adam,

    Your blog structure is really impressive and you are putting a lot of effort into your research. This is both amazing for your own project but it will be really helpful for other students who may be having a hard time fully understanding what they may need to do throughout the course of the semester.

    I think your chosen topic is awesome and can't wait to read it!

 Week 09 Project Alpha It is coming up to the final weeks of the project and I have to say that I am making decent progress, this week I mainly tied up some loose ends with my game such as making the enemies this week spawn randomly others would be: Giving grid boundaries so that the enemies spawn within the play area. Game Brainstorm

 Week 03 Game Brainstorm There has been a couple of ideas I thought of since the start of this module but here are the four that I think are most reasonable.  Bartendar Simulator: This was my first idea, the plan was to make a game where you would pour drinks at the bar and control the pressure and the tilt, then you serve them to the customers, depending on how well it is done you will get a good score. It would start with you getting a request from the customer with a certain drink or service, then you go and pick the glass up, bring it to the tap and start pouring the drink for the customer, in this process you'll have to make adjustments to the pressure using the valve, tilting the glass and judging the distance the glass is to the nozzle and the tilt on the glass, after that you'll have your character pick up the glass and bring it over to the other side of the bar and place it down beside the customer, here is where the customer could complain about not having enough hea...
